Mixed bag greets November
Just as Philadelphia and New York slug it out on the World Series stage, this last weekend saw the Eagles in some exciting tension filled games that produced a licorice all-sorts set of results. Excitingly, I can report that now every Eagle team has experienced the sweet taste of success with Ronnie Paulus’ baby Eagles recording their first win for the season on Sunday morning against the Tribe. With our youngest player Ethan D’Angelo at just 8, this team is full of learners, but obviously Ronnie is teaching them the right way, because after just three games, they’re on the winners list. Well done to all involved.
Other firsts included two drawn games and a couple of previously undefeated teams that came up short to record their first reversals for the season. As the old maxim goes, ‘sometimes you learn more from your defeats than your victories’ and if that is the case then hopefully we learned something useful to build on from these.
Congratulations to all the winners this week, commiserations if you didn’t win, but that’s life. Work harder next time to make sure you are a better player, listen to your coaches and maybe it will turn around.
