Learn how to score!

by admin on October 21st, 2009

To all interested people,

Two of the club’s most experienced scorers in Di Hambly (the current A Grade scorer) and Dierdre Burgess have offered to run a refresher course for those that have scored before and a beginners course for anyone interested in learning.

The session will be run at the club rooms from 7pm THIS Friday night (23 October)

It is a really valuable contribution that you can make to your team and can be a lot of fun following the statistics of the game. Problematically it is always our Little League Minors that suffer because there are a lot of people new to the game. We are fortunate that Tony D’Angelo has volunteered to be the scorer for this year’s Little League Minor team and he will work closely with Cathy Miller who has volunteered to do the LL Major team. However, it is always in the club’s interest and your own, to have MORE than 1 scorer in the event that someone is unable to be there in a specific circumstance. So, I encourage ANYONE who is interested to get along to the club at 7pm on Friday 23 October and learn how its done. NB from the list below that it is not a gender specific skill. Even though the list from last weekend was mainly mums, I know of many dad’s who know how, so dad, don’t be put off if you’d like to have a go.

Thank you to those that have already volunteered to this point:
LL Minor : Tony D’Angelo (Ethan’s dad)
LL Major: Cathy Miller (Jarrod’s mum)
14/2: Bernadette Donaldson (Michael’s mum)
14/1: Michelle McGarry (Sam’s mum)
16: Michelle McGarry (Tom’s mum too)
18: Jenny Harvey (Mitch’s mum) and Yvette Peckham (Bryce’s mum)

As you can see, Michelle had to do two games last weekend, so it would be good if she didn’t have to race between games to score. It would be great to have a couple of scorers in each grade to share the load. Let your team manager know that you can help.

Over to you.

See you at the ball park!
