13 Eagles in State Junior Teams
Congratulations
West Torrens has now provided an incredible 13 Junior players to State teams for the coming National Tournaments in January 2010. If you also count the lads who made the Little League team that were National Runners Up on the Gold Coast in July, the total is 18. Add to that, the Under 18 State team is coached by former A Grade coach and Claxton Shield coach Ron Harvey, the Under 16 State team is coached by West Torrens A Grade Assistant Coach Clive Fiebig and the Executive Officer is Daryl Spencer, the Little League team was coached by current coaching director Burke Weber and pitchers were managed by Junior Pitching Head Coach Bob Baker and clearly West Torrens is having a huge influence on Junior Baseball in this State. Since my last communication from the weekend, I have now received confirmation that three Eagle Under 14’s have been selected in the State team: Mitchell Duval, Jack Hambly and Sam McGarry. Unluckily, two others were unfortunate to just miss selection and commiserations go to Connor Foley and Lucas Hunter. In the Under 18 State Team two young men have been selected, Sam Bawden and Dylan Chuck will travel to Geelong in January, and Joel Chapman is a reserve.
For the record, West Torrens Junior State Representatives in 2009/2010 are:
